MSDN Newsletter Preview for 2009 Jan 19
Posted on 1/13/2009 1:30:21 PM

Here are DevFish's Florida entries for the 01/19/2009 MSDN Flash. Exact same goodies I sent to the flash publishers on 01/13/2009. Why is the format below so ugly? This is what I send them directly cut n pasted.

"got .NET goodies" you would like to see in the MSDN Flash? Send me a note at jhealy@microsoft.com.
Note: I won't advertise 'pay-for' training classes, sorry.

What? You don't subscribe to the MSDN Flash? Then how do you keep up with all the cool developer events in the great state of Florida? Go here for the MSDN Flash subscription: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/flash/default.aspx

Devfish’s Corner

The MSDN Roadshow ala .NET Tiki Hut Tour is on track for this winter.  Come luau with us on the roadtrip as we cover Data Services, Azure, and JQuery / ASP.NET Integration.  The devfish hisself, along with trusty sidekick Jeff Barnes will be spearheading this run.  Target cities include Pensacola, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Melbourne, and Naples.  For more info see http://www.devfish.net/fullblogitemview.aspx?blogid=623 .  In the meantime, we’ve got some great events heading up.  Check out the Tampa SQL Saturday on January 24 for a full day of SQL fun thanks to Pam Shaw, and [Dave Noderer] http://geekswithblogs.net/dnoderer/Default.aspx has organized quite a speaker list for South Florida .NET CodeCamp IV on February 7.  I’ll see you at both events I hope, and thanks to the awesome Florida dotneterati for organizing and speaking at them.

Joe Healy, a.k.a. the DevFish, is the developer evangelist for Florida. He enjoys fishing, games, writing .NET code, and playing with girls, Ryan and Morgan. Visit his blog, or send him e-mail.

Lake City Got .NET

Brian Boatright of Lake City, FL informs me they’ve got a .NET group going up by the lakes.  The next meeting should be mid January sometime, topic tbd.  In the meantime, watch their site if and sign up for their codezone group if you’re in the North Central Florida or South Georgia area.  See http://www.nfdotnet.org for details.

SQL Saturday Tampa – January 24

Pam Shaw has announced SQL Saturday Tampa on January24.  Call for speakers as well as registration are open.  Check http://www.devfish.net/FullBlogItemView.aspx?BlogId=606 out for more details and the latest updates.

South Florida CodeCamp V – February 7

The oldest ongoing codecamp in Florida, last year South Florida CodeCamp drew over 500 people.  For its fifth straight year, code camp leader Dave Noderer has stepped up and put the event on!  Dave opened registration and call for speakers for this year’s event on Saturday, February 7.  See http://www.devfish.net/FullBlogItemView.aspx?BlogId=607 for speaker request and actual event registration itself.
